Enabling Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for AWS Root User Lab Guide
- Log in to your AWS account using the root user credentials.
- Navigate to the IAM (Identity and Access Management) service in the AWS Management Console.
- Click on the “Activate MFA on your root account” button, which will be displayed prominently on the IAM dashboard if MFA is not currently enabled for the root user account.
- Choose the type of MFA device you want to use (such as a hardware token or a virtual MFA device).
- Follow the instructions to set up your MFA device and associate it with your root user account.
- Once your MFA device is set up, the MFA status for your root user account will be displayed as “Enabled”.
