The Google Cloud Digital Leader exam is a multiple-choice, multiple-select exam taken either at a testing center or online via remote proctoring, with a duration of roughly 90 minutes. Unlike hands-on certifications, there is no lab or console-based practical component during the exam itself -- every question is answered from a fixed set of options based on conceptual and business reasoning.
The exam guide breaks the material into five domains, each carrying a different weight: General Cloud Knowledge (~10%), Digital Transformation with Google Cloud (~17%), Innovating with Data and Google Cloud (~30%, the largest domain), Infrastructure and Application Modernization (~30%, tied for largest), and Google Cloud Security and Operations (~13%). Notice how heavily the exam leans toward data/AI and infrastructure/modernization together -- roughly 60% of the exam sits in those two domains combined, which is why this course dedicates the most sections to them.
Rather than one giant section per domain, each domain is broken into smaller sections so you can study in focused sessions and more easily revisit a specific sub-topic later -- General Cloud Knowledge splits into cloud fundamentals and economics/infrastructure; Digital Transformation splits into the "why" and the "how" of transformation strategy; Data splits into storage/fundamentals, analytics/BI, and AI/ML/governance; Infrastructure splits into compute/containers, serverless/networking/hybrid, and APIs/modernization strategy; and Security splits into core security fundamentals and compliance/ operations/cost governance.
This course ends with three full-length practice exams, each weighted to match the real domain percentages above. Treat your first attempt as a diagnostic, not a pass/fail judgment -- note which domains you're weakest in and revisit those sections' lessons before your next attempt. By your third practice exam, you should be scoring comfortably above the real exam's passing threshold before you book the actual test.
