Course content
Welcome to Azure Fundamentals. This course exists for one specific outcome: walking out with both the AZ-900 certification and a genuinely working understanding of what Azure is and how its pieces fit together -- not just a list of memorized definitions that evaporate the day after the exam.
AZ-900 is Microsoft's entry-level cloud certification. It's deliberately designed to assume no prior Azure experience, and it doesn't require you to write code or personally manage infrastructure day to day. What it does require is a solid, connected understanding of cloud concepts, Azure's core services, and how Azure is priced, managed, and governed -- and critically, how all of those pieces relate to each other, not just isolated facts about each one in a vacuum.
This course follows the same three blocks as the official AZ-900 exam skills outline, in the same proportions: cloud concepts (the foundational ideas -- CapEx/OpEx, service models, deployment models), Azure architecture and services (the physical infrastructure and the actual services you'd deploy -- compute, networking, storage, identity), and Azure management and governance (cost control, policy, and the tools used to monitor and manage everything else). This ordering isn't arbitrary -- concepts you learn in the first block get directly reused and built upon throughout the second and third, so working through the course in order will make each subsequent lesson easier, not harder.
Each major section ends with a 25-question knowledge check, specifically scoped to that section's content, letting you catch gaps while the material is still fresh rather than discovering them for the first time on a full practice exam weeks later. The course finishes with five full-length practice exams, each built to mirror the real exam's length, format, and domain weighting -- giving you a genuine, repeatable way to gauge your actual readiness before booking the real thing.
Every lesson in this course includes both a video component (as recorded) and a full written version below it -- so if you want to rewatch a concept quickly without replaying the whole video, or you'd rather read through a section at your own pace, the written version covers exactly the same ground, including the worked examples and hands-on walkthroughs. Reference links to official Microsoft Learn documentation are attached to each lesson as well, in case you want to go one level deeper on any specific topic than this course covers.
This course mirrors the AZ-900 exam's own structure -- cloud concepts, then architecture and services, then management and governance -- specifically so that earlier lessons build the foundation later ones depend on. Knowledge checks after each section and five full-length practice exams at the end give you concrete, repeatable ways to measure your actual readiness, not just a feeling that you've "covered the material."
